  I have been hiking here for years. There are easy trails for all ages, but they also have more challenging trails for experienced hikers. You can explore the woods from 202 to Skyline drive, from 287 to 17. It is a very big area to accommodate any day hike, but it is somewhat comforting that even if you got terribly lost you could walk straight in any direction and you would be back in civilization within a few miles.
  
  You can fish as well in the river and lake and there are events for kids sometimes. It is a dog-friendly park.
